Artemis is a human spaceflight program led by NASA, with the goal of landing the first crewed spacecraft on the moon’s south pole by 2024. It will be the first crewed lunar landing mission since Apollo 17 in 1972. Artemis is an excellent example of the importance of planetary exploration.
